This place is magical. As a book lover I enjoyed every minute spent there. I liked the beauty of library, the workers, books variety, architecture, and location.
You can buy ticket straight away at the info desk, near the entrance.
For best expirience go to level 4, where palace is located. You will also have a brochure to read about the history of the library. The entrance fee was 1700 forints.
The palace on the fourth floor is an absolute wonder. It costs around three and half euro to get there and you can spend your entire day in the building. They also have lockers available for visitors. Sadly, there isn’t much of the history of the place presented.
Can very much recommend this place! For anyone visiting Budapest, this is a great way to see a beautiful library. Worth the visit. 5/5
I got a bit disappointed. The 4th floor palace was nice. However the book shelves in the other floors, were a bit old, not so modern. It is a must-visit for book addicted people. The atmosphere was not so great. Don't wait so much, otherwise you will get disappointed.
There was no WiFi for visitors, only for the members.
The price was high.
This place opens at 10 o'clock.
I definitely recommend. It is a beautiful place, very cozy, aesthetic and relaxing- especially after walking in the rain.
It’s a huge library in the heart of the city with a several floors and huge amounts of books. As far as I know you can get a one day entry ticket or some annual pass, etc. Also it can be a nice place for a remote work or studying. But of course I was there for the historical part since the building used to be a palace back in the days. You should visit it, it’s incredibly beautiful 😍 Btw they have a free Wi Fi.
If you’re working or studying here, it’s the perfect place to do so. If you are just visiting, it’s worth popping in when in the palace district. Small entry fee. One thing I like about Budapest how it highlights it’s past, while functioning cá a modern city. Prime example here.
Needed to pay a small fee for entry, but it was a beautiful library! You’ll have to go to the top floor to see the palace rooms.
